Chayathan set to take over rail department | Bangkok Post: news

Chayathan Promsorn, deputy director of the Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning (OTP), is likely to be named as chief of the new Rail Department, a source at the Transport Ministry said. Mr Chayathan has been nominated by the ministry as a candidate for the seat. "Mr Chayathan is a more likely choice, as he has vast knowledge about the rail transport system. Over the next 10 years, the Rail Department will oversee the government's ambitious plan to develop the nation's rail network. It will function as both a policymaker and regulator for the rail network and supervise the safety and quality of services.
